Fun Learning Opportunity
I purchased three "Build Your Own Talking Clocks" this past
x-mas. One for me and one each for my grand children, ages 5 and 11 years. December 26th we three sat together at the kitchen table and built our talking clocks. The directions and parts and abilities all went together without a hitch. When completed each clock worked and was a great functioning momento of a good time had by all. Highly recommended!

5 extra stars
I LOVE Joe Landsdale. I came across this book by accident about 10 years ago. Now that I know that it has been out of print for some time, I feel almost like one of the chosen ones. I feel lucky. I certainly recommend it to the fan of macabre short stories, if you can get it (ha, ha, na, na). Good luck.

A Cane in Her Hand (Concept Book)

Authors: Ada Bassett Litchfield, Eleanor Mill, and Caroline Rubin
Average review score:

The right help at last!
So many books are about blindness. At last, I have found one to help my child cope with failing vision. People seem more understanding if you are blind but if you are severaly visually impaired, they don't seem to accept the fact that you have a handicap and they make fun of you.

Another wonderful collection of hooked rugs
This annual series of hooked rugs is always inspirational. But then I'm a little prejudiced as one of my hooked pieces is in this issue. The photography is first rate and you get a 2 page description/picture of each juried piece. There are 36 total pieces featured.

I really enjoy using this book when I am subbing in a classroom. When the lesson plans fall short, I pull this book out! The children enjoy trying to guess what the picture is going to be!!!

Love it!!!

Chief Left Hand, Southern Arapaho (The Civilization of the American Indian Series ; V. 159)
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Oklahoma Pr (Trd) (November, 1981)
Author: Margaret Coel
Average review score:

Chief Left Hand
A great read for anyone interested in the history of the Plains Indian tribes. It brought to life one of the lessor known, but influential, Indian chiefs of the region. I also learned a great deal about the settling of the Denver/Boulder communities during the Colorado gold rush days.
